The moon should be out tonight at 9.26pm, and 92% illumination.
It's been almost 2hrs now, so it should be high enough for me to see.

lol... ure funny man.. u even check online.. gosh...haha

I took shots of the moon last night, although the visibility was poor. You could see very thin clouds (water vapor) passing the moon, and it really didn't look all that clear with the naked eye.
It's also quite clear to me that 105mm is nowhere near good enough for such a shot.
Have you tried taking a shot of the moon at 105mm before?

I was lucky enough to have brought a stray grasshopper home on my shoe, so atleast I had something to take descent pics of last night :bsmilie:

Ok, I added 2 grasshopper shots to my flickr. I can't wait to do some outdoor macro, the lighting is so much better, and can do faster than 1/60th shutter speed.
I won't embarrass myself by putting up my shot of the moon - its that bad!

I did, but it wouldn't sit still. It hopped away so many times, eventually I lost it!
It was camera shy too, whenever I sat in front of it, it would turn around
My table was green, so that wasnt much use, and the shots I took when it was on my black tripod bag weren't much use either.
