I believe the current crop of entry level DSLRs (d5d,D70s,d50,350D) have better performance at iso1600.

noise control is not everything....1D may be a bit more noisy, but in terms of WB, AF, control and metering, the 1D is still belongs to the professional category. Not forgetting the sharp image, punchy colour, and amazing details straight from the camera in jpeg.

anyway, if its not for Zerstorer's PSing, i thot shinken's pic was pretty useable (to my untrained eye). not bad for a supposedly 'outdated' camera. :thumbsup: looks like u made a good choice to get this cam, shinken!
