not sure if the tamron 18-250 has a USM/IS like feature w/c is available in sigma 18-250(OS/HSM)
Price has definitely gone up for the Tamron 18-270 as i was quoted $980 by AP
Was considering the Sigma 18-250 as well..but decided to jump on this instead
here are my views:
image quality is quite good but only to the limited areas that it performs. knowing the sweet spots is key
AF is ok but u may have to let it AF a few times. It hunts in the dark but depending on your patience, it may be too much for you.
There are some users here who have put up beautiful night or day shots so is it really the equipment? or....?
VC is just ridiculous.. it plains stops motion in its tracks. i'm not blowing the horn here but other users may agree.
Build is ok.. ( it was shipped in a paper box with cardboard infill) Other then the little resistance turning the ring, there rest aren't showstoppers.
Hope it helps with your decision =)
seems like sigma sounds better to me
um... i am wondering is this lens produce good function with nikon d80?
coz it is for dx cam right?
feel like to get this lens then coz it is quite cheap
in fact i wanna get Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG Macro HSM II just because its f2.8
but it is so expensive, and now i found out this lens, the range quite attacts me... and the price is much more cheap, but the aperture... jsut worried low light situation or liek zoom to max.. the aperture is small... :dunno: nothing is perfect...
i owned tamron 17-55
tokina 11-16mm
if i get this sigma, i guess i can probably sells my tamron..
haha... but well, think f2.8 constant does a good point to a lens
If you are set on a f2.8, have you considered the Sigma 50 -150mm f2.8 II?
....
but now i saw this 18-270mm, looks good too
just it isnt f2.8 constant...
