I think You forgot your lenses turn on AF mode.If cannot, please go to CSC.

Please. Perhaps you have good intentions, but your post really does nothing to help TS remedy the problem.

Btw u mentioned that the right side AF point spoiled, care to explain what happened when you tried to use the right AF? Does it cannot focus lock or the lens never attempt the focus? For your info, the mirror in your camera actually allows partial light through, so the AF point of the camera is actually at the bottom. If it cannot focus lock, you can try using sensor cleaning mode and use a blower and gently give a light blow to the bottom of the camera. Do not attempt this if you have no confidence. For more info, you can search online for blown up design of canon camera. The metering is @ the top with a right prism to redirect light to your viewfinder as well just for your info as well

Hi Wootsk, what happened was the red light comes out but it cannot lock or focus, it just focus in focus out non stop regardless of what I point it at. I tried sensor cleaning but it didn't work.

For the benefit of other bros who may encounter the same problem as me in the future, there was a tiny speck of dust on something (the girl was pointing at my view finder) and CSC just blew it off and viola~ it's now focusing sooooo fast! Mr Wootsk you were right there ;)

hmmm... focusing point wont spoit... it the focusing plane that make the point focus... focusing plane maybe faulty.. or either yr lens/body contacts dirty... worst come to worst.. yr lens af faulty

eh... paiseh say.. say wrong.. it focus sensor... LOL not focus plane or aka focal plane =x paiseh paiseh

Yea I am GOD, MUHAHAHAHA. Actually what happens is the dust blocked your light path to your AF. AF works when there is a change in contrast and enough light to actually "sense" light. That is why it is harder to AF lock at night. So the lens actually tried to keep zooming in and out but cannot focus lock, the problem might be this :D
