SD cards are so cheap nowadays. don't think so ba. probably the physical size rather?

What they mean by file size is not in cam , its handling of files during transfer to computer and PP .
its very slow if you have a normal pc or very expensive if you upgrade to a pc capable of high speed.
Infact there is a couple of tread started regarding pc upgrade .

I think they meant that the large file size of the D800 meant slow file transfer times and longer processing time when doing image editing.

The d800's incredible. If d600 is the same, wil prob grab 1.

Ok, got it wrong, my apology. yeah, someone told me each file size about 75mb, takes forever to transfer if whole lot of them.

DXO Mark rates the dynamic range to be just slightly lower than the D800. I don't think it is significant in reality.

I guess at $2699 now, this camera really kick ass. Don't be fooled by its size and the couple of flaws in specs, in actual field shooting, this camera is really really good and the IQ is amazing. I can also attest what Ortega said about the DR to be accurate. The DR is something I never seen in my previous cameras.

Yeah, probably the major negatives for pros. Other than this, no complains about the camera for me.

The supply for the Nikon D600 seems healthy so far. In addition, no one really knows what the real demand is. I won't be surprised if the D3200 outsells the D600 5:1.
