Nice shot...I wonder how many body do you have or you keep changing lens?

All my favourite car...Aston, Porsche...

nice coverage. Thanks for sharing.

#4 nice! the orange glow from the front wheels... are they generated by the heat from the brake disc or some lights installed on the rims??

ha ha... I brought 2 bodies, a D700 and a D2X. But I never use the D2X :bsmilie: I just anticipate what I will be taking next and change the lens accordingly.

It is the glow from the disc rotors which got heated up real hot.

here's one that is REAL hot :o

wow! really nice pics u got there.... for the night shoots, wat ISO u using and wat shutter speeds are u getting? looks like difficult conditions to shoot...

Conditions were indeed bad....low light conditions....and very warm day with slight drizzle about 6ish.....

Most close ups were taken at turn one....very hard braking and cornering by the cars....

At that proximity, the cars were very loud and very fast....

Good job Chisiang....

Waiting for my copies hor...

;)

 for u....

wer the race queens??
;p

Pls, no photos of race queen... hate to see those threads on car racing but nothing on cars & only those women. :thumbsd:

Wah, Holden (from australia) also got...

The photos are very beautiful... those the colour are so vibrant & bright tat they look a bit over saturated, but it doesn't really matter... the photos are nice & sharp...

The cars must be very loud... I've seen the Aston Martin DB9 Le Man 24hrs race car before, sounds like an F1 wif it's 600bhp 6.0i V12 engine. Hmmm, but probably the V8 Vantage race car doesn't sound like that.

I not good with Porsche make and model... all I know is there's a few Porsche from PCS and the winning car is PCS's RSR which is a monster on the track :o 27 sets of slick  each slick tyre I think easily cost USD$1k... so x4 x27 = USD$108,000

Nice pix of Mok's car, it's a Porsche 997 RSR.

Thnx for the compliment adiknaim.

Yeah, the conditions were not the best a photographer can wish for, especially at night

To preserve the night vision of drivers, the track had minimal lighting or non for most stretch of the track. I tried not to use ISO 25,000 and limit to a maximum of ISO 6400.

At such lightings, AF work is tricky. Use of long tele lense becomes impossible because you will need higher shutter speed to compensate for lens shake.

The most viable will be panning shots with short focal length lenses. @ ISO 6400, an F1.4 aperture, the corresponding shutter speed is usually 1/50~1/90

LMAO... yeah, I usually put cars as priority first. Race queen, you've seen one, you've seen all. They are always the same few girls. I prefer chatting with them than to take photos  Girls just love talking to photographers (especially one with a long prime lugged over yer shoulders lol!). I guess size does matters when it comes to pretty girls :bsmilie:

Yeah, Holden! V8 power! Sounds really awesome with the sequential box.

RE: Oversaturated Colours > yeah, unfortunately most cars used luminous materials for their livery, made worst with high contrast of the noon sun. In fact I had to desaturate manually in photoshop for those with lumi yellow, orange and red liveries or else the background will simply be too dull.

Luckily on print those over saturated reds and orange looked absolutely gorgeous!

The best sounding cars are still the BMWs... they really sound like F1 cars but with lesser decibels

Wow...basically all shots were beautiful,compo,colour and timing....great shots.
