10k Club on Canon Equipments

How was it stolen, i am going Europe soon. I know italy is wellknow for thef case.

irony is i wasn't on holiday when it was stolen. worked based in london for 2 yrs, brought my 5D1 ard to places like prague, spain, italy, france and everywhere, nvr had anything stolen... upgraded to 5D2, got it stolen in a London Starbucks within 2 mths of purchase... left my bag under the table, think it got lifted when my friend went to the wash room and i was reading a magazine while waiting for her...

so...never let your arms/legs leave contact with the bag, best if you leave it on your lap or have the bag strap wrapped ard your arm/leg.

luckily i had my mobile, wallet and cell phone in my coat jacket...so only the camera items were stolen.

was any amount claimable in travel insurance?

ha...i wasn't on holiday :( so din buy any travel insurance....and anyway most travel insurance cover up to max of 1k only for theft...

Transport fees to shooting location alone more than 10K, Lense alone more than 10K, Bodies alone more thank 10K and the kopi/beer session also coming close to 10K.

10k club feels like a show off club...lol...shoot more compare less... :P

I dunno about you guys but i feel its kinda crass to talk about the price of your equipment...
let your pictures do the talking for you...

hahahaha... there are many out there with many more than 10K

This are the list of items that I am currently holding. when I shoot weddings,i sling both the 1d mk iv + 5d m 2 when I go on my assignments. the 50 1.2, 85 1.2, 2x580 exii and 16-35 are my rice-bowl, and always carried around on my assignments too.

500 f4 is purely for my own interest. so far my assignments doesnt require me to use it yet (nv had any sports event request as of yet, if u have, can recommend to me though :D I am more than willing to take it up)

100 macro only used for product shoot assignments, so far I have only taken up a few product jobs, again if u have any lobang, do recommend it to me too :)

Recently i was buying a new body 5D mkII and happens that a friend of mine just ask me did i cross the 10k of photo equipment...

It never occur to me to count how much i spend but well i happen to count and yes i cross 10k of spending omg!

Agreed... "The Equipment is only as good as it's wielder"

If we talk about mobile phone or laptops or even apple products. I dont think i ever cross 10k spending on one single product like apple or blackberry.

But for canon photography equipments. omg....photography is an expensive hobby

Apple : can very easily cross 10k in some areas what.... esp once you go into sem-pro side. 6-digits even for the whole system, eg music/home studio. If you are into brands and don't DIY, a single sub already more than 10k, and people do multi-subs to level out the bass modes. A good headphone like Senn HD-800, 2k plus, amp another 2k plus.
PC also.....
