#154 Salisbury Plain, Southern England.

A flock of sheep seen grazing on a misty English countryside as the sun rose here in Salisbury Plain, where we immersed in a mystic aura brought forth by the ancient Stonehenge behind us.

#155 Chapel Bridge, Lucerne.

One of Lucerne's famous symbol is Kapellbrücke, also known as the Chapel Bridge, Europe's oldest surviving wooden covered bridge. The evening's romantic mood was a drastic shift from the highly touristic atmosphere in the daytime. Mount Pilatus's cloud covered peak is also captured in the distant background.

#156 Matterhorn-Trail, Valais Alps.
Following the night camp near Schwarzsee, we started the morning embarking on the 9.8km Matterhorn-Trail, which took us through a spectacular north face view of the Matterhorn. Numerous cute Marmots, a kind of large squirrel that lives only in certain parts of the Alps, were seen darting all over their burrows here.

Your thread is by far the best in this forum(at least to me). Beautifully taken photos(can almost feel the places), wonderful notes and awesome experience!!! LikeX10E6!!!! Keep it going!!!

Thanks silence, you have grasped the essence of what I hoped to share in this thread that is the feel, notes & experience. Glad you really liked it. :)

Oh man, how can i missed such a good thread. Really wish I can be like you to travel for 105 days purely for shooting. You must have planned this trip for a long time and make great scarify on your work.
Great sharing!

Thanks Ben. It wasn't purely a shooting trip though, spent most of my time in the cities having fun instead of shooting actually. Didn't even finish planning the last 30days when we flew off. :)

#157 Great St. Bernard Pass, Valais Alps.

Next to the Great St. Bernard Hospice seen in the background as well as #146, lies a small lake when the national border or Switzerland and Italy runs right through the middle. Taken from a small border guard post when convoys of Italian Vespa scooters pass through this mountain pass everyday.

#158 Stonehenge, Southern England.

The mysterious Stonehenge, one of the most famous prehistoric monument dating back to as early as 3000BC, is seen here partially silhouetted by the morning sun over the Salisbury Plain. We were lucky enough to get a chance to marvel at these gigantic stones up close instead of adhering to the usual circular footpath that had the Stonehenge cordoned from a disappointing distance.

#159 Ven, Skåne.

A small pretty Swedish island lying in the middle of a narrow straits separating Denmark's Zealand and Sweden's Skåne county. Finally got to camp on a nice ground; along the ridge of a flower field with a sweeping view of the said straits called Øresund, instead of the previous rugged terrains of Lofoten Norway.

Page2 #12 Hamnøy, Lofoten.

Considered lucky to have the fishing boats with the nice blue and orange hulls anchored while making this picture, otherwise it would not be half of what was envisioned had the berth was empty like it was on the google map.

#160 Füssen, Bavaria.
One of many popular historic towns in Bavaria Germany, Füssen is also home to the the two famous castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau a short distance away. The medieval town is shown here overlooking the turquoise-coloured Lech river.

What lovely images !!! Make me visit and revisit this thread. I am totally in awe with your dedication and determination. I know for sure that its not easy camping, driving and yet be inspired to photograph day after day... Its so easy to succumb to fatigue...

The quality of your images speak for themselves. Really well done.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks asterix, nice to see you revisiting this thread again! It might be easier for me as I have a companion for mutual encouragement if the going gets tough, which makes your solo trips even more admirable to me. Really looking forward to seeing your pictures of your next trip. :)

#161 Berchtesgaden National Park, Bavaria.

Hidden in the Berchtesgaden National Park in Bavaria Germany is a beautiful small mountain lake named Obersee, where one can hike around it to rest at a paradise-like sanctuary. A splendid escape from the hustle and bustle of the nearby touristic Königssee lake and it's famous pilgrimage church, St. Bartholomä.

#162 Hohenschwangau, Bavaria.
An aerial view of Hohenschwangau, a Bavarian village, taken from a neighbouring mountain named Tegelberg at around 1,500m altitude. Neuschwanstein castle, said to be the inspiration behind the Walt Disney castle, is shown at the bottom right of the frame overlooking the village against the backdrop of Lake Alpsee and the smaller Schwansee. Part of Füssen can also be seen near the top right of the frame.

Did you manage to get any shots of the Neuschweinstein castle at sunset or sunrise? This Disney castle is magical with the clouds and fog, especially in winter, when the magic comes to life. Lol...

咸鱼抄饭,哈哈

#06 Lofoten, Norway
Stockfish and cod are dried in this manner from winter until summer when they are exported to mainland Europe. Very good $$ but tough life.
These can be made into snacks in small packets. Cost about $7 for 20g or so, like cuttlefish, good for keeping awake while driving long distance.

Can I ask something about this photo?
How come the sky is red in color and the water reflection and the boats are in blue color?

#152 Ufschötti, Lucerne.

A blazing sunset over a marine sports club's harbor near Ufschötti in Lucerne.

Unfortunately no sunset/sunrise shots of Neuschweinstein as I didn't want to hike the steep mountain paths in the dark with a sprained ankle I sustained in Berchtesgaden National Park the day before. Shooting the castle from the foot of the mountain just doesn't cut it, so got to pass on this. Seen some local postcards with the castle in winter fog, indeed is magic comes to life, and to hike that mountain in thick snow to capture that image in that right condition is certainly no easy feat.

咸鱼抄饭,哈哈

lol.. Does look like our 咸鱼 but the snack from it is not salty actually.

Of course. While the setting sun had the overcast sky glowing red in the distance, it was already too low below the skyline to cast the red glow on the boats. You can see the skyline being backlit by the sun and as well as some higher buildings still caught in the warm glow. GND was then used to bring out the whites & blues of the shaded boats, but compromising the water reflections as a result.

The red glow in the sky doesn't extend all the way overhead, which explains why it was not reflected on the water in the foreground area.
