#18 Aurora Borealis, Jokkmokk Lapland.
The flow of the dancing lights changed at a pace so fast that every shot taken depicted her in different forms and luminosity.
Unbelievably intense green and red glows lent a colorful brilliance to the frozen lake never seen before in my life.

Really appreciated. :)

Investing in the LEE was really important due to the absence of undesirable color cast as my approach to photography is to always try to 'get it right on the spot' since I do not like doing any PP (can call me lazy :p) no doubt there will always be some imperfections here and there. That's why photography to me, is an art, not science.
I don't have the big stopper, just the GND set, although sometimes I do use the hard-edge GND as ND instead. Dual-purpose, can save money.

We stayed in a small village called Porjus. It's so small and unknown that other Swedes I met later don't even know where it is.

simply lovely beautiful pictures.. I am camping here for more ...:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Your -15°C looks colder than my -15°C haha. I believe you're at a colder temperature! (my cam didn't iced up)

Thanks bro! Saw your Patagonia posts previously, fantastic!! It's my dream place to go next time.

The temperature was probably around -15°C, and I was looking rather comical, jogging on the spot to keep myself warm while shooting the Aurora at the same time.
Tripod and camera iced-up on some occasions. More Aurora images to follow...

Superb series here!! Exactly the standard of thread to be sticky.Btw, most of the images seems to be 6:5 or 5:4? How do you do that with 450D if you don't PP?Keep it coming man!!

Amazing photos... how i wish i can go on a 3 mth backpacking trip...

Simply breathtaking...

Nice. Thanks for sharing!

Waiting for the blog to be up

JDI (Just do it), bro! The last thing you want when you're old is to have regrets about things you wished you had done but didn't. Everyone is only young once.

and thanks for your compliments.

Thanks bro! I prefer to shoot most of the landscape shots especially portraits in 5:4 ratio.

The camera LCD screen is masked with tapes to 5:4 ration to allow me to compose the frame with 100% coverage. Viewfinder was only used for casual snapshots.
All the images that were composed with the 5:4 LCD screen are then mass cropped to reflect the actual image for my framing. I wouldn't call this PP since no other editing to color or sharpness were done and the cropping were not attempts to change or improve the original composition.

I will only do PP for commercial requirements but as of now, I still enjoy the process of shooting more than PPing.

Glad you enjoyed the series! :)

#19 Eggum, Lofoten.
The fishing boat was slowly rotating in a clockwise direction and it was after waiting for 15min or so that the starboard came into the right position for the light resulting in this shot.
It would have been perfect if the boat is placed lower down the frame, clear of the breakwater but unfortunately I was already on the highest vantage point possible.
