Is it ok to use a Kenko pro 1.4x on a 70-200 f4L? Any problems with that?
Can lar, total effective aperture is f5.6, u still can AF with this combo. :)

someone said the tamron sp and kenko pro are the same. not sure how true it is though.

canon 1.4xII .......
But Kenko Pro 1.4x can be used on others non-L EF lenses, and cheaper..........Canon only can use on some of the L lenses.......

Canon's definitely  ... scary part is only the price

I agree with the fact that the canon TC is only a drawback when it comes to fitting it on other lenses. (non-canon/L series) ... that's why i'm contemplating on the kenko pro ... but so far, i'm awaiting some uneditted sample images shot with the kenko (if anyone can provide them) for me and maybe others to decide upon next time when someone wants to read up :)

 interesting .. which means the TC should come without the extra pins as stated in the article? ... anyone can confirm or have some sample images shot and 100% crops? Don't mind sharing? Think ultimately, have to just post images shot with the kenko and post them online (100% crops included) ...

that's where I saw it too. btw, Kenko has released a new series of "Pro" teles.

Hi, does anyone has experience with the Sigma 70-200/2.8 with the Kenko Pro 300 1.4x TC? Any compatibility issues? in terms of achieving full AF and decent pic quality? I'm contemplating getting the 1.4x TC if it works. Thanks :-)

No, the Kenko TC with the Sigma 70-200 F2.8 will not AF properly due to the HSM technology used by Sigma. The AF will just keep hunting. Tried this out myself at TCW.

if u have Canon 70-200 f2.8, then get kenko if u are low on budget, or canon if u are willing to pay double (from my research, the quality are about the same). both are white somemore.

if u have sigma 70-200 f2.8, then get the sigma TC, the color matches and guarantee will work with sigma lens.

sorry deathangel ... borrow ur thread awhile.

can the canon 1.4x TC be used with the canon 70 - 200 f4 ?

No probs.... think this question been asked before... refer to first page ...

Thanks... think i'll be settling for the Kenko Pro 300 as i might be using the TC for a future lens ...

Just a check, the Kenko @ $350... any places offer better prices?

Was in HK last month and Kenko Pro 300 was selling for abt ~S$230 - Box was blueish in colour. Saw Singapore shops selling Teleplus Pro 300 for about ~S$250 but the box is green. Not sure what the differences are but I believe Kenko and Teleplus are the same rite?

Not too sure but I think Kenko Pro is probably better. The difference might be better coating used.

that's right...just get kenko pro

Yup ... went to TCW to see the kenko pro 300 already. Gonna get it. Thanks for all your input! :)

Tip for TC hunters at the moment - CP having clearance sale for the 1.4x TC (MK 1 model) at around 470-490 - can't really remember the pricing. Grab it while you can.

Will the kenko pro 300 1.4x slow down the AF speed if I stack with Canon 1.4x on 70-200mm f2.8?

sure would. even if you stack 2 Canon 1.4x, you'll get slowdown in AF speed.

depends on lighting condition and camera body, i feel no different with AF in the day time

even at night time, the slow down is negligble, at least it never hunt on my 1D

on the other hand, the Canon 2x TC slow down the AF so much and hunt until it cannot focus properly at night. On top of that, the image quality degrade significantly.

IMO, 2x TC is more suitable for fast L primes

for other lenses, better check if u can stack a TC on it because some of the lens got rear element so near to the opening that it will hint the TC

2 canon tc can't stack together la...

That why i intend to stack a canon tc to a non-canon tc
