Just want to share my case. During making of a time lapse, I was surprised to find out dust (or oil, I don't know) getting collected during the session. I obviously didn't unmount the lens during the whole session. Is this common?
The youtube link is here. You can see new dust spots start to...
I think the shutter in video mode means electronic shutter rather than mechanical one. If video is being captured in 25fps, the shutter speed can't be slower than 1/25 for sure. Setting shutter speed too fast makes each frame in the video to be discontinuous. Some people say twice the frame rate...
Here's a tool to extract jpeg from nef. http://drchung.new21.net/previewextractor/
You can use ExifTool also. http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/
If you just want to show to someone, why not download a nef viewer?
I wonder whether the compact DC motor fits the the ultrasonic motor category, which nikon states so. I think it's easy to tell because conventional DC motor has a permanent magnet and ultrasonic one shouldn't.
I tried berno BH-0 before. It looks a bit small, so I changed to BH-1. Your equipment is heavier than mine. You better go and try a few sizes.
I found BH-1 very steady, solid build, though I haven't tried any other brand.
I think it's the other way around. I buy DSLR because I can do better PP, not because I want to skip PP. DSLR gives more room for PP. I mean higher SNR, more resolusion. If the image is from cheap camera, I can't do much about it.
Can someone help to check if the new VC version of Tamron 17-50/2.8 for Nikon has fixed the wrong distance reporting problem? The distance information is recorded in EXIF in Nikon camera, so it's very easy to check. Just take some picture with different focus distances (especially close...
Easy. Take some more photos at the corner.
More precisely, take one photo in the middle. Take two photos (one higher, one lower) at left and right in the sense.
I'm using D80, but I have encountered the same problem before. I took out the battery, cleaned the metal contact, then it worked.
Now this problem occurs much more often. I have to clean the contact 50% of the time.
I've heard people saying D300 having 51 focus points being one of the major advantages over the lower end D90. (I believe similar statement exists for other brand also, so I pose this to the general forum.) I always use single point focus and always use the center focus point, so more focus...
