I have the Oly E-500 before I got my Fuji S5Pro. The lack of focusing speed and sensitivity of the E-500 is a very major factor that pushed me to get the S5.

I agree with the loss of contrast, which is why having 400% setting all the time is not a good thing, but it's there when it's needed.
