Virtually never, unless doing studio shoot... Probably will start using flash more often for macro, still learning about macro shooting, but it seems flash is used quite often... Regarding the decision between 45mm and 60mm, under daylight/optimal lighting conditions, the 60mm can do everything...

Oops I forgot the 45mm is f1.8 ... that means I will probably still use it for indoor shoots. The 45mm/f1.8 is also less than half the size of the 60mm/2.8 . Both are equally sharp lenses, superb quality and not as expensive as most of the other premium lenses, I think its a good deal to get both...

Yes, this lens is very good for portraits as well. Because its 60mm, that means you don't have to stand too close to your model to take a close up shot. This usually makes the model more relaxed. By using the 'macro mode', it means you can focus from as close as 20cm, and you will be capturing...

I scooped the wontons to the top so that the photos look nicer.. :)
