Since ur using canon, y not get the 55-250? Small n sharp less for its price. Besides 20mm more on the long end of 18-270 does make much of a difference. Ur on a dslr system, dont be afraid to change lens!

Give yourself a date, say 3 months, to buy the lens. when the date comes, open your wallet and convince yourself that you dont have enough $$, than extend the deadline.

Hmm u have a point. But mayb some CSer has had similar problem and is able to give me a rough idea of what happened. and i wish to believe that a dslr is less complex than a human body. and thanks for the advice on the other repair shops.

If the lens fogs up while using, place a heat pack and warm up the front element. the fog should clear in a minute or so. Happened to me once in yunnan. hope this helps =)

U wan to take subject isolation or landscape? 55-250 for a little more zoom, 18-200 for the convenience. 18-55 is a great lens for landscape. And a tripod helps too!!
