    focus and recomposing

@ one eye jack Thax for explaining. Understand about the metering part. I'm juz confused over why TS associated metering with focusing... Aren't they 2 separate things?

    focus and recomposing

Errr... Ya that's y I'm confused. In your above statement, u are tying metering w focus.. If u intend to meter for a particular spot in your scene, and u use AE lock to lock the exposure settings. You can then recompose and focus on your intended point in the scene and the exposure setting...

    focus and recomposing

Hmm.. This thread has cast some doubts on the method I use... Usually if the lighting conditions are not tricky (even lighting - nothing too bright in front or back) , then I tend to juz use the centre focus pt to lock focus on the subject's eye then hold focus (AE & AF lock tgt on my shutter...

Can any one gove me a brief explanation as to how a DSLR excells over a normal camera

Perhaps it's a bit of the "dont even know where to start" syndrome with the TS. How I approached learning was to think abt the types of shots I wanted to achieve. E.g. Most ppl wanted to achieve the 'pro' look in their portraits where the subject is in focus and the background is blurred...

Thinking of getting a Ultra-wide Angle that is compatiable with FF sensors

Why is the 11-15mm unusable on FF? Sorry I probably can dig this from Google but since we're on the topic.. Hehe

    60D or 7D

@Desimond I went down to get a feel. 7D feels shiok and viewfinder coupled with its razor sharp focusing really tempted me to spend that extra 1k(almost). Not to mention that it shoots at 8fps... However I'm not really a sports shooter, so the speedy features are really only good to have. I...

    60D or 7D

Hi, Thanks for all the response.. I'm now the proud owner of a 60D. Allows me to shoot faster than my 550D and the tilt LCD to aid in weird positions. In the end, the weight, and needs decided for me. I wanted a faster cam but didn't need the 8fps, I'm not really a sports shooter so the...

    upgrading DSLR

Yup as mentioned above... The 60D has kinda detracked from the X0D class. It's body will not be in the same class as the 40D you have been using.. However, performance wise it still shoots faster than the 550D. Do note that IQ remains the same. If you are looking for a heavier body...

IT Show Good Place To Buy Camera? - Answers Here

One of the reasons why I bought my camera there was the option to pay by 0% credit card instalments. Will the other camera shops have this?

Question if I upgrade camera body can re-use lenses?

The red band is only on Canon's "L" range of lenses. They are the most expensive lenses for Canon and are supposed to be the highest quality. To be honest, it seems that there's quite a bit you still need to research on in terms of knowledge (at least gear wise). So maybe think twice before...

Question if I upgrade camera body can re-use lenses?

Hi The crop factor for Canon's cropped sensor is actually 1.6x That means with any lens mounted, the focal length is effectively 1.6 times. E.g for your 10-22mm lens it's effect is that of a 16-35mm. What are your reasons for wanting to upgrade to the FF 5DMII?
