I'm also a newbie, currently addicted to renting lens for special occasions. So much cheaper and if you really like the lens, then consider buying it! Win-Win!!

How do we "fixed" a shutter speed? It seems to be always auto adjust. We use P mode most of the time becos it is the first manual mode on the dial. ;p The ISO is always set to max 1600 *we don't really use flash and not particular about noise*
