    Canon Powershot G7X

Anyone found a source for OEM spare batteries for this camera? Can't seem to find any for this NB-13L model. So far shooting my new cam in eco mode the battery life seems passable. But on a holiday it won't be enough for sure if I use this as a primary camera.

    Canon 18-200 or 55-250

70mm with a slow aperture lens won't give you nice bokeh. Suggest experiment starting there and working upwards till you see what you want. Then you will know how to achieve the effect you want. Super expensive fast lenses like the 70-200 f2.8 make the bokeh much nicer. But working with what...

    Canon 18-200 or 55-250

Yes. The classic focal length for portrait photography is 70-100mm. 70mm on a crop sensor camera like yours is about 44mm so you can set your lens from 44mm onwards (the 18-135) and experiment. Remember to open up the aperture wide to maximise bokeh. People do use even longer focal lengths but...

    Canon 18-200 or 55-250

The 18-135 is a fine focal length for most travel needs. In terms of bokeh, the blurriness increases with focal length and with a wider aperture and inversely with distance from the subject. To get your son with nice bokeh, go in close with the 50/1.8 at 1.8 or use 70mm onwards on your zoom with...

    Canon 18-200 or 55-250

I've used both before. Sold the 55-250 and still have the 18-200. Was using them on a 300D, 40D and now a 100D. The 18-200 was kept simply because it is the most convenient lens for traveling with. AF is fine for non sports shooting. In terms of quality of the images, it is adequate though my...

    A6000

The original adaptor is this one http://www.metabones.com/products/details/MB-EF-E-BM4 There are cheap clones which you can find off ebay. I bought this one http://www.commlite.com/en/disproduct.asp?id=41 Autofocus is pretty bad with this so most people resort to manual focusing which is fairly...

    Sony A7 II

I agree it is worth checking out. Someone just told the the older A7 can be had for RM$3600 in JB now...incredible value! And yes, I think lots of people are dreaming of an A7S/ A7ii hybrid.

    Sony A7 II

A7s definitely can handle to high ISO like nothing else can... but as I am looking for a jack of all trades camera, was hoping the A7ii would be good enough... Would also like to use my ancient Carl Zeiss Jena lens again with the steady shot feature. I was reading through all the comments on...

    Sony A7 II

Dear owners of the A7ii, may I ask for your feedback on this very interesting camera? I have a EOS 5D2 and a NEX 5N. I travel with the 5N as it is far smaller and lighter for trips. I mainly use the SEL 18-200 on it. It is also a very fun camera to use mediocre AF notwithstanding. The 5D2...

Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM - Budget Landscape Users Rejoice!

Argh! I want this for my 100D when traveling even though I have a 10-22... downsizing everything is nice for traveling. The price is good too... but for me a waste as I have the older lens. But this is a no-brainer for anyone needing a UWA on a EOS APS-C. Good product Canon!

    Taiwan with my EOS 100D

2 real life Coelocanths! (The living fossil fish scientists thought were extinct). I was excited to see this legendary fish. It was very dark and the camera could not AF. Manual focusing did the trick.

    Canon 100D

I didn't notice any difficulty with the handling with the 18-200 EF-S. Wouldn't normally mount my 70-200 on this body though but with the above mentioned way of holding it, I don't think there would be any big issue unless shooting for long periods with this small body/ right hand grip.
