Noise control is bad enough even at ISO 800 + High ISO NR (Normal). The noise at higher ISOs are much worse from past experiences. Try not to use ISO HI 0.3, 0.7, 1.0 unless you really need to. Try to go at most 800 or 1000. Worse come to worse ISO 1250 and 1600. I almost never exceed ISO 1600...

There's quite a lot to see with Canon's new 450D (which is likely to be there) and the Nikon D60 to try and play around. You may get other models as well from pns to DSLR. Not sure whether Nikon will feature D300 or D3 there. An advice. Just see, try, but don't buy. You are better off going to...

Higher optical zoom. Higher megapixel won't make much difference to the quality of the images on a PnS. Hopefully there is something from wide to tele and together with IS/VR. IMO, a 10 MP PnS does not make any difference from a 7.1MP one.

I would always bring a spare battery along with me, whatever it is. I strongly recommend you to bring spare batteries when you do whole day shoots. One battery is not enough.

Can still go to public area. If you want cleaner shots, go next year. And for transit area, just buy an air ticket and check in early. It does not need to depart from T3. The best is to buy SQ ticket and do online check-in.
