Any bro got this lens...just got it and noticed a nick on the inner flange of the lens. I was told this was a molding gate. Is this true?

it is at nite...perhaps the exposure should be set shorter to get the contrast. Thanks!

I think your settings made it way too overexposed. Step up the shutter or step down the ISO or do both till you get the right exposure. If ambient lighting is so bright that doing that did not help...you're need to use a filter or find a different angle or location...

I think the number should be abt 50k....well, perhaps depends on the camera. For eg. professional models should be able to take hundreds of thousands exposures...
