Started using it after a long break and discovered that I couldn't autofocus. Nothing wrong with the lens (tried on my Nikon body). Is there a setting that could be the reason? I did reset it too but to no avail. Any ideas?

For me it'd be difficult using a 50-200mm with the G1 without IS or a tripod.. :(

that's what i thot too.. unless, again, i wish to zoom in to something of interest in a vineyard... else most of the time it should be landscape and portrait shots of family members..
