to maximise your budget and if size is not your concern, u can try Canon S1 IS. i got mine @730 with gst. 3.2MP, 10x optical zoom, 3.2x digital zoom, flexible LCD 1.5" screen, CF slot, AA batteries operated, EVF, manual function. free gift from canon include 4xAA GP rechargable batteries...

thanks for all the replies. phew... i thought my S1 (by the way, it's my first serious DC purchase) is the only one heating up slightly. so far i have not shoot longer than 30mins. hope it does not reach the extend of classifying as "HOT" if i do some extensive shooting using my 1G lexar...

i did'nt realise this heating problem when i am using my old digital cams or some other cams i handled. i wonder why my S1 "heats" up near the handle after about 20mins of shooting, walking around and tweaking around with the settings. this "symptoms" makes me rather uncomfortable. is this...

does your S1 "heat" up a little for about 20 minutes of shooting?
