Yoh dude.... sorry for my blurness.. You are right. The D40 kit comes with a AF capable lens..:embrass: My mistake. Guess this is one hell of a camera then!?!?! HooRay!! :bsmilie:

Errr.... According to the review, the AF will only work with AF-S lens if you need autofocus. Else you will need to do manual focus with the ring on the lens. Kit lens does not provide AF, which is why I stated, it is a strange package since it is targeting PNS camera users. And it does...

Err... not that familar with Nikon lens but what I meant was, the Kit Lens has no Auto Focus. So even if the price is <$1000, if you really need the AF function, and you fork out extra to purchase it, it will end up being very close to the Canon D400 price.
