Eddie, Nice shots you got there. The color rendition on the 18-270 Tamron seems good.

    philips 240pw9eb lcd monitor

Reds definitely show the largest improvement. I have an older Viewsonic VP191b and a Dell 2405FPW, when you compare it side by side, the Reds on the Viewsonic & Dell look a little 'washed' out. Greens also stand out on the Philips compared to the other two.

    philips 240pw9eb lcd monitor

I'm happy to report the excellent color rendition of the Philips 240PW9EB. Definitely worth the money. I was contemplating the Dell 2408 with 110% Color gamut, but Dell has stubbornly refused to lower their price.

    philips 240pw9eb lcd monitor

Thanks for explaining this... But after buying the Philips, I'll have to wait to save to buy the Spyder$$$... :( Any idea what Brightness should I reduce it to - 100% is way too Bright... Should I leave the RGB settings at 100%? Should I adjust the Color Temp out of 6500K?

    philips 240pw9eb lcd monitor

Could you guys post up the Calibration settings for the Color Temp/Brightness/Contrast/R/G/B etc? Out of the box this LCD's too bright - 100% Brightness! Ouch! Cause I don't have Spyder3 etc. I just picked this Philips 240PW9EB from SITEX $739 (+freebies etc) Much appreciated - thanks.

Nikon D300 and Sunrise at Merlion Park

Lovely photographs, you do have an eye and in this case, timing does play an important role in determining the final outcome.
