I as a casual shooter don't really need the 2.8 whereas weight is the more impt factor, thus end us getting a f4.

Or wait for Sigma 18-35 1.8 nikon mount, it cover both 28mm & 35mm. Meant for APS-C.

Since you seldom use telephoto len, get the 70-300 then save the $ for something else. U can consider the nikon 70-200 f/4 also

Today, the replacement card went dead again .....

mine went dead on me few month back and after replacement, the msg of "unexpected removal of memory card..preparing memory card" re-appear again.

Think all of us using the telephoto lens when we are taking those photos.

Nikon told me is SGD225, the $80 was a mistake. Those who managed to get it @ $80 very lucky. You can try your luck to see if can get $80. :D, wish you gd luck first. I got Kirk one.
