5D3 is really a good all rounder. Fast focusing and yet FF quality images + low light. Never regret upgrading from 5D2. Everything just works on whatever lenses.

I agree. I have the RX-100 II. WHILE it take very good pictures, inherently it does not have a view finder. The way a compact is used introduces camera shake. Serious photography still needs a DSLR.

How's the low light? Would you compare the HX300 to the RX100 mk2? I know both are different range cameras but would love to know. pocket only have much dollars.
The fact that it is fixed focal length 28-100mm is limiting. I would have prefer it to be 24mm. Its a much better focal length indoors. But the advantage of RX100 is its compactness. I would have use it as such. The 3N would give you that flexibility (interchangable lens).

Get the 3N. You will learn more using that cam.
You probably need to know more about photography to really squeeze the most out of RX100 ii as it has it shortcomings. I see RX100 ii as backup cam for DSLR users.
