Use photoshop? Yup, definately. But to enhance the photo beyond what the lens can achieve on its own. Even if I had a Nikkor 17-55mm I'd still use photoshop! :bsmilie:
Hardly got to use my D90 proper so I can't really say. As for the metering problem, i kinda figured out what happened. You see, in 'landscape' the picture exposed fine. However, when i switched to portrait, there was more (brightly lit) sky in the frame. To compensate for the increase in brightness, the camera, which was in matrix-mode, darkened the foreground. At least thats my suspicion :think:
