Good eye on that, read too fast and thought it was 30s exposure all along till you pointed out.

Is my camera not good enough?

Using the right settings to get the right image, you take some you lose some. Its a delicate game of balance. Most modern cameras are capable of making good images in good hands. Take good advice seriously or learn the hard way. Keep shooting and practising. :)

    Simple shot in Singapore

Hi bro daredevil, sorry I wasn't being specific enough. I was actually implying that he shot the scene on tripod, so no worries reducing the aperture to get a wider DOF. Not a choice for hand-held though. The level of blurness in the foreground element seems to me that he shot wide open. Just to...

    Simple shot in Singapore

Be careful about the composition, with the railing in the foreground and sticking out right at the center of the frame, it steals the viewer's attention away from the subjects behind. The blurred trees and mast on the sailboats suggest that you shot this with a rather long exposure on tripod? If...

    CBD Golden Hour

Hi NormanSelvaraju, did you shoot the first picture in RAW? If you did perhaps you could push an additional 2 stops to bring out some details in the trees and shadowy areas of the bridge/buildings before performing a manual blend with your existing image. I like the cloud movement and colours of...

    Morning View

The horizon is tilted but hard to correct in this case since it would have left part of the house in the foreground cropped should the image be straightened. A wider view showing more of the house in the foreground would have been more pleasing. Exposure is a little over for my preference, i...

    Harbour @ Keppel Reflections

I agree with this. Nothing wrong with HDR or any form of digital manipulation. It really depends on the purpose. If its for competitions, probably not accepted. There is no such thing as a "pure" digital image. The fact that an image is derived from the bayer interpolation with the channels...

    Marina Bay Sands

Different cameras have different base ISOs, most of them are 100, several are 200 and also a handful at 50. Try to shoot at base ISO, RAW whenever you can, this is where you get the maximum dynamic range that the sensor can offer. Slap on a ND filter if required to get down to 30 secs exposure...

    [edutilos] Review of Panosaurus v2.0

This is an accurate review of the Panosaurus 2.0. Thumbs up. Been using it since last year and its working well. Did all sorts of panoramas with it, from single to multi-level ones, serves its purpose. For that kinda price, can't complain much :)

    Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 vs Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 HSM

I'd vote for the Tamron 28-75mm too. Used to own that piece of lens (BIM version), great IQ and decent AF speed (at least IMHO). Never had any issues with it when using on my D700. Focusing is quick under good lighting, struggles a little in dim conditions but not really that bad. Image quality...

    Night photography

From your EXIF info, f/8, ISO100, 10s seems quite alright a setting to use. Make sure you have a stable tripod, use delayed exposure (if available) and timer for the shot to minimize movements and vibrations (due to mirror flap). If you want nice starburst effects on the lightings, you can...
