Almost forgotten about this thread until 1 fateful night in Paris. Was at the Eiffel tower attempting to take a portrait of the significant other and found the background light overpowering the subject in the foreground. A flash will not do me any good. Found a quick fix using the flashlight...

I think if you are close enough to the subject (for example in a macro setting) then it aint' a waste of flash output.

I beg to differ. The very first filter that go onto each and every of my lens is a UV filter. I am very sure any one of us yes would rather have our UV filter scratched, than the glass element of the lens scratched. One can argued that with really really good care, you would not need UV...

i voted for all except the 75mm. Need to wait for real life reviews of these lens first before I can even start to consider and decide. No purchase unless lens proven to work to my satisfaction! lol
