No doubt about it, every click cost money, we made sure all settings are deliberate and calculated properly and EVERY shutter counts!:dunno:

I've always find children to be one of the best models to practice (almost flawless skin makes much less post processing), especially when they're at play. You don't feel awkward, and they're always very natural. BUT, don't expect too many of them willing to sit there and pose for you.

I've seen some keeping their lens hood on and/ or camera strap flapping in strong wind. Removing those can actually enhance the stability of the set up, otherwise they'll act like erratic parachutes.

Do some research on the specifications, get out there, get a good physical look at the cams, get the feel, the weight, then decide. Then you will be surprised that the cam you chose may not even be any one of these you've listed here. It serves very little point in asking for general...

I'm thinking more of the birding community, especially those macho small framed photographers who handheld their 400 and 500mm lenses. :bsmilie:

Gun grip can get into unnecessary trouble, but for tele, cannot think of a better way than this for handheld.

Usually most will have no issues of photographers having some food and/or a seat at one of the tables, and even personally invite you it. There are others who will ensure that their photographers are well fed before the event starts, as many knows that there will be little time for them to eat...

Silly it may sound and not trying to insult anyone, ensure the orientation is correct. It does occasionally happens especially when tools are used. Happened to an old hand I know, ended locking it dead tight, instead....."An old cat that got it's whiskers burnt"
