    Birmingham - Britain's Canal City

In 1759, the Duke of Bridgewater built a canal using drainage water from his coal mines to take coal 4 miles to Manchester. This cheap and easy method of transportation was quickly seized upon by owners of coalfields in the Black Country close to Birmingham. In 1767, British Parliament passed...

    question abt event shooting technique

actually, i only use a 24-120VR for most of my shots. ;) it's not so much the equipment, it's how familiar you are with your equipment, and how well you employ them. i think you should work with the 70-300G first, but you need a 18-70DX maybe. so that you have a wider angle lens. plus the...

    gang fight

i like the concept! nice even light. composition wise ai think it might be more oppressive if you pushed the b&w into the corner. Also, maybe if you had shallower DOF? please allow me to try some DI for this picture.

    Telok Ayer pics

    question abt event shooting technique

hi wildstallion, joey. lenses are seldom sharp when wide open. perhaps you could try to stop down to f/8 or so. or perhaps it's technique? maybe if you could show some samples, the more experienced photographers in this forum can help to dissect them and explain why. cheers.

    question abt event shooting technique

joey, i'm by no means the authority (espn, shhh.), but i think i can help a little. when i shoot events, i try to keep my iso around 400-800 and my shutter speed at 1/focal length. with VR, less. but for you, the 70-300G needs at least 1/150, ideally 1/300. especially if you're far away from...

    D70 - Wrong Color Data

espn: what ghost? gooseberry: i know adobeRGB has a wider gamut, i didn't say it is 'out-of-gamut'. but good job on the clarification!

    D70 - Wrong Color Data

that is correct. the gamut for the other 2 profiles cannot handle the color. shoot in RAW for detail, not for color. and use the appropriate color space to handle the colors. cheers!
