Hi! I have sold 2 lens (with financial loss) regretting buying it: 1) Canon EF 90-300 f4.5-5.6 2) Canon EF 100-300 f 4.5-5.6 USM I was disappointed with lack of sharpness above 200mm. After that I bought Canon EF 100-300 f5.6L, and Tokina AT-X 100-300 f4, its sharpness is OK.

I suppose, that the degradation of image quality (especially contrast) is the source of slowing the AF. BTW, much better results are by using TC 1.4.

Thank for all, especially for gymak90. I found this side by Google, searching for my lens: Tokina AT-X 100-300/4 (for Canon), someone wanted to buy this lens (long ago).
