First question :: Go buy online from ebay or dealextreme, for example. Hoods can be had from them for less than 10 bux. See seller/product reviews first to know if the hood you'll buy fits good. As always, caveat emptor.
2nd q :: Ask Canon. :P
Your leather conditioner won't do any good since you're applying it to rubber.
Anyway, I don't think it's an issue with humidity. This is a known issue with the 60D worldwide. I guess they may have had used a bad batch of glue or something.
What does he mean by "stuck in the mud"? Sorry I haven't seen the DigitalRev review.
Anyway, I don't see any problems with the buttons. They're responsive and works well for me. Maybe you'd just need some time to get used to it if you came from a different model.
^^Which button?
Question: Anyone already brought their 60D to CSC for peeling rubber grips? How long does it take them to fix it?
I'm thinking I'd just repair it myself if it's too much hassle to bring to CSC.
TIA!
Not sure if this is what you're referring to, but here goes.
There is a small switch/latch underneath the hotshoe which gets stuck. Just pry/pick it with something til it gets unstuck..
Should look something like this.
Hope this helps.
