    lens calibration?

Hi all, I've got a Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5 (canon mount) which i think backfocuses. Anyone has any idea: 1. where I can calibrate the lens (i.e. where's the service centre) and 2. how long it might take to calibrate it? Many thanks!! Apologies if my questions sound dumb, quite new to slr...

Is Canon EOS 400D a presentable tool for a freelance wedding photographer?

Hi Frank. Wow, really appreciate your candor. I do think some of the post-ers here are unnecessarily spiteful, and i think that can be attributed to their own self-insecurities? Good that you've taken it positively though, and good luck!

    Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 Macro DC

Hi Mrfranklee, No worries. =) I got it second hand for $520. It was a new lens though, the seller (who's a nice guy, so I didn't mind at all!) sold it off only after two weeks from his purchase. I'm not sure if you can get it for $400 as per what the previous poster mentioned, perhaps...

    Canon PowerShot G7

Tried one - really like the vintage design, especially the shutter release! It's a throw-back to cameras of two decades ago. Yet I'd personally go for an S3, seems more voluminous in your hands! Wouldn't mind the G7 for a back-up camera, that's for sure.

Which of these lenses should I go for...

Dear all, Thank you so much for your kind recommendations. I do apologise - been away for a while, so here's my reply! I was actually considering the lens because of the following: 1. Bad publicity of the kit lens, which I partly agreed with. (Indeed, it didn't perform up to my...

Which of these lenses should I go for...

Thanks. The age thing was meant to be a joke. Thanks for the suggestion though! Guess I'm quite set on it. The extra range (albeit small) won't be too bad either.

Which of these lenses should I go for...

Thanks for the recommendations guys. Yeah, did stop down a couple of stops, it's especially soft when it comes to night photography, with a tripod and self timer. Daytime shots are fine, but still lacks the sharpness especially at the edges. I hope my hands aren't shaking too badly yet -...

Which of these lenses should I go for...

Sigma 17-70 2.8/4.5 or Tamron 18-50? I've got an EOS 400D kit, and my problems with the kit lens was its softness. I don't mind not having the extra 20mm range between 50 and 70. Any suggestions? Cheers.
