I have a R2A and the shutter sound is significantly louder than my Canon 450D. It could be I got a bad copy since everyone was saying bessas should not be louder than a DSLR :dunno:. Other than that, I am rather pleased with the camera for the money.

I just got a 430EX II recently and it started to have this problem today. Suddenly, it switched to TTL mode and all my shots become totally overexposed/white. It returned to ETTL after a while but knowing that there is something not right makes me feel so annoying!

Can someone tell NASA that it is the person behind the camera that matters and not the equipment? :D

I also have the Tamron 17-50 and was toying with the idea before but decided to just save the money. For me, I feel that the sharpness and IQ on the Tamron is very acceptable already but AF seems to be a tad slow for doing candid photos for indoor and street. If I were to upgrade, it's really...

P can be used in situations where it is either you get the shot or you get nothing at all. No time for you to think of the settings or the moment is gone. P is auto set by camera for anti-shake and reasonable DOF in this instance.

Hmm.. Sorry noob here but your post seems to suggest the focal length is the reason for the thinner dof. I always thought it's the larger sensor that gives the advantage and that's why compact digicams always have great dof...
