Hmm i dono if its a practise, juz that my friend carried one with him... Current is not extremely strong but can be quite a force, esp. if u wan to take macro pictures hovering can be tough. ;)

Hmm no dive resorts. Ya day trip out to dive. But dive operator has guest stay above dive shop well equipped with wifi, common shower room. and its near to the jetty i would say about 5mins drive away... daily pick up from dive shop to jetty. Cost is stated in the website as u have found. i...

According to the dive operator its Brunei bay. If u mean specifically names of dive sites, these are the sites i have dived: Cement Wreck, Rusukan Reef, Australian Wreck, Abana Reef, RigReef and Pelong Rocks. i did take a portion of the map.. :)
