    Can a raw file convert to JPEG?

    i also got a canon 550d and i select raw and large. Noticed that I have both raw and jpeg files on the memory card. just thinking out loud.

    Thanks for all the replies. I have already read the thread on the shops to go and buy before writing this newbie thread. Just thought of pushing the salesperson of a better bargain. For now I am down to Canon 550D and Nikon D5000. Both offer the same lens in Kit I. I am torn on the LCD...
