No issues getting my A7R2 files to open in ACR9.1.1. If it's important to use PSE, you can convert the uncompressed RAW in Capture One to DNG then work on it PSE.

Get a head mounted light with a variable flood or focused setting. Getting one of these is way cheaper than buying a new camera. Besides, judging from your photo, it's better to get a head lamp to see where you're going for safety purposes.

It's only an application of a patent, don't read too much into it.

You can use the joystick on the back of the camera to select the AF points. What's so difficult about that?

Lenses have aperture blades, not shutter blades.
