What are the reasons people will sell their 1D4 and 1Ds3 for 1DX?

Erhmm.... cos the 1DX is better? For one thing the insanely high iso available?

    60d or 7d

You started another thread saying you lost your 7D manual, and here you're asking whether to get 60d or 7d? :dunno: Anyway you can refer to this recent thread - http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/canon/986900-not-again-60d-vs-7d.html

    Canon EOS 1D X announced

Don't think it's "inherit". More like 7D was the guinea pig. :bsmilie: That's what Canon does, introduce/trial new/advance features on lower end cameras and check the market's response before putting them into their flagship models.

    Not again.... 60D vs 7D

If you shoot events/sports often, get the 7D with a 15-85mm or 17-40L? You get a great cam and a good lens. If it's for normal everyday shoot, the 60D will suffice. But I would still recommend the 15-85mm. It covers a better range and is cheaper, lighter and more compact than the 17-55. IQ...

    Time to go FF???

That'll be a sad day if this happens, well at least for hobbyist like me. :o Yes totally agree with you on the first point. That's why I still have my Ixus. Images suck big time, but better to have lousy images/videos, then none at all? ;) As for your 2nd point above, I will have to disagree...

    Time to go FF???

Chill man! It's nothing personal, don't need to get so worked up. I tried to read through your posts, but you always lose me about halfway through each of your posts. I found it very difficult to read through all your writing and to catch what you're trying to say. It's ironic that you said I'm...

    Time to go FF???

Honestly, I did not bother to read through all your lengthy posts in this thread. From the bits I've read, you were trying to explain why you thought APS-C rocks, and why you don't need FF? The reason why I quoted Michael is because he's an extremely experienced professional photographer with...

    Time to go FF???

I don't think I can put it any better than Michael... http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/cameras/5d-announce.shtml "People need to bear in mind the reason that all manufacturers went to APS sized imaging chips in the first place. It wasn't because of any inherent advantage that the...

    Time to go FF???

It seems like people here who are arguing the case for APS-C do not really understand why FF holds such great attraction. It seems many also do not understand the differences between FF and cropped sensor cameras, e.g. difference in DOF. People who understand will tell you that FF is definitely...

    Most promising 5D MarkII leak

For your info, I'm still waiting for the release of EOS 3D and 7D. :bsmilie: Btw, in some parts of the world it's still 21st April.

    Most promising 5D MarkII leak

    Which 1 Better 24-105 f4L or 24-70 f2.8L

Keep your 17-55, since you already have the 70-200. It's a much better match on a 1.6x crop camera than the 24-105/4. Hmm... "object isolation" this is a new term to me. I learnt something new today. You should use a prime 50mm lens then. When the lens is on the camera, it's pretty well sealed...

430EX for portrait bounced to upper back

This is one of the reasons I bought the 580EX for, trivial as it may seem. I didn't know that 430EX could only go 90 deg to the right. What was Canon thinking of? Use a opaque bounce card to block light going forward, you should achieve similar results.

update on 400D underexposure problem after correspondence with CSC

What the article is saying is to expose as far to the right of the histogram as possible. That is not overexposing, as long as highlights are not blown, i.e. "details not washed out".

Dell 27 inch monitor users, please help

Maybe that's the cause of the problems. :bsmilie: Sorry, couldn't contain myself. Obviously you've not had much experience using the higher end Dell monitors.
