    steady shots during low lighting

If the object u are shooting is not moving around, well, the tripod will sure get u the perfect shot in terms of stability. If it is constant moving object and dim light setting, a steady hand and a lot of practice is needed. Here's my typical setting: aperture priority mode shoot in raw...

    A Good Canon Travel Lens

Have been using the 28-135 for quite a while before I sold it off when I switched to the 28-70 f/2.8. As for low light, i would say that the preference is to switch to manual focus. But compared that to the 50mm f/1.8, then of course the 1.8 is a sure winner. Nevertheless, it still depends on...

City Stories : Fisherman doing his thing

it's a keeper... without looking at the caption/title, it first impresses me on the mood. pondering and looking deeper it gives the 'lonely moody' feeling of waiting by the shore. If a picture is able to project such an emotion, it is definitely a keeper and not a junk. The angle from top down...

    Shaolin Kung Fu

On the overall, I think Allan did a good attempt on the shoot. Problem with such performances is unless you are able to walk around and near to the front, it would be reasonable difficult to talk the shots that you desire. Even if you are going to fix yourself to a location, a tripod is often...

    A Good Canon Travel Lens

For non-serious travel photo work, the 28-135 IS USM should be sufficient. It's light as a travel lens and its range cover almost perfectly (except for wide angle landscape shots). The IS is good for low-light work although you may need to push up your ISO to get a reasonable stable shoot.

    D2x for Weddings and Events

Hi ShawnQuah, We only managed to use the D2X once because we were trying it out for a friend. It was used in the indoor stadium where my church conference was held. We shoot w/o flash and despite the dim like and also the frequent change of light during performances, the D2X perform...

Help needed for shooting a Buddhist Painting for developing into A1 size

Depends how you want the pictures to appear on the A1 size output. Honestly, if you want the whole pic to look good and you do not have a DSLR then my opinion is that you shoot it in its highest resolution in parts and stich them together. One benefit is that if the original is a huge painting...

What bag are u using for dslr users?

Yep, all those and yes, like what they say, beware of your shoulder. I did a 3 day shoot continuously with all the gears and everynight I went home, I was dead beaten and the next morning... the shoulder were really heavy and aching... need to stretch for at least 15 mins to get all those nerves...
