Amazon US is listing at US$399. Is Singapore's price usually closer to US or Japan?
Has anyone bought from Amazon Japan before using forwarding service? I found one but it requires a deposit.
Edit: Found the launch SRP for 45mm f1.8 @ S$498. So we can expect the 25mm f.18 to be launched at...
I recently sent my Oly camera for servicing and the rep confirmed with me that I have the original warranty card and requested that I bring the card down when I collect my camera. I had brought my original receipt along but he said he needed the warranty card to confirm the serial no.
I'm leaving Singapore by Nov 2 so my best bet would be to get it directly from Olympus? But I checked with them & they only provide pre-orders for camera body or kit :(
Unless I can find someone who wants a body-only option & combine for a kit. Anyone? ;)
Hope to hear about the results soon =) I roughly saw that part of the instructions on the manual, but I didn't have a remote with me.
Btw have you tried the FBH outdoors? It seems that the IR functionality is intermittent.
I would say the added weight makes the camera nearer to my liking. I also felt that the weight was evenly distributed.
I brought it out for field test at Army Open House today. The IR triggering works only once out of every 2 shots. I'll be bringing it down on Tuesday to let the distro have a...
This is definitely a good price. I actually went ahead with my purchase because the only price posted here is $198... then I came back and saw $137 last night... :(
Anyways the focus here seems to be on the E-510, so being a E-500 owner, I guess I'll eventually have to get it somewhere else.
Hi,
That was sharp observation. Sorry if my photos had caused any confusion, here is a more accurate photo of the grip:
The IR emitter is quite well-nested at the back, so in a comfortable holding position, the fingers normally would not cover it.
Point 2 works, cos I tried using detached FBH and triggered off from the front of the camera.
However, I agree with Point 1 and Point 3. I'll go back to the distro if I use up the 2 pieces of stickers given. As for Point 3, manual focus works best for the moment, since IR triggering means the...
Comes default with 2 battery holders for the BLM-1. The following batteries are listed also, so they may be supported as well:
Canon BP-511A
Nikon EN-EL3a/3e
Minolta NP-400
Pentax D-LI50
Fujifilm NP-150
Sigma BP-21
The triggering mechanism (IR emitter at the bottom, prism sticker on the IR sensor):
Triggering works all the time. 2 pieces of prism stickers are provided. With the sticker on, the IR sensor can still detect IR signal from the front.
The small gripe about the purchase is that for the...
Hi all,
I chanced upon the distro's booth at COMEX today. I was pleasantly surprised to spot the E-500 and E-510 boxes in the display cabinet, so I asked for a look. During our chat, the guy explained to me the features, and even when so far as to step on the unit to demonstrate its...
Yes but I don't see how an IR would be better, since it also has a delay: http://www.camerahacker.com/Forums/DisplayComments.php?file=Digital%20Camera/Olympus/Olympus_E500_IR_remote_control._RM-1.html
The anti-shake & the 2-second timer are alternatives if TS doesn't see the need to buy the...
