    Taking pictures in manual mode

Actually, it's a yes and no answer. Yes, because some cameras always use certain metering modes for certain shooting modes. For example, the eos 500N uses center-weighted metering for manual mode and evaluative metering for shutter priority. No because more advanced cameras allow you to switch...

    Best value budget tripod?

He's asking about your height, since using a tripod much shorter than for extended periods you will give you lower back ache. And what is the weight of you camera. Not light is being a bit vague.

Need opinions on Canon EF 75-300mm III lens

According to Canon website in US, http://www.usa.canon.com/eflenses/lineup/supertelephoto/index.html the 75-300 cannot use the original canon teleconverters. It can however, use third party teleconverters.

Dust in viewfinder cannot remove how?

Try not to touch the mirror even with a lens cleaning cloth. From my own experence, I made the dust even worse by doing that. Just use a blower to blow away the dust on the mirror.

Are Canon lenses made in Japan?

Exposures longer than 1/8 of a second or so should be used on a tripod because its difficult to avoid camera shake without one. Unfortunately, I am unable to help you with your other questions. :(

    Question abt F100

I want to point out here that he said that he seldoms rewinds the film mid-roll, which is not the same as does not rewind the film mid-roll. The other thing is, we each have our own different working styles and what works for someone, may not work for another person.

My mouse low on Batt... sien!

Heh, I'm also using a cordless mouse. It's quite handy especially when your desk is very cluttered. The only problem is when the batteries need to be changed and I find that there aren't any AAA batteries at home. :thumbsd:

    Nikon SWM

The 75-300mm costs $430 while the USM version costs $500. (Prices from Canon Singapore's website). There is no comparison between a "L" lens with the USM and the same lens without the USM since all "L" lenses now use USM to drive the AF.

Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS USM reviews?

Heh, I thought that way on the first photo session a few weeks after I bought my 28-135mm lens, and used shutter speeds of 1/8 and lower. After I got back my prints.......

    A Self Portrait

Canon claims that the IS gives an equivalent effect of a shutter speed 2 stops faster (in terms of camera shake) In other words, for the 28-135 lens at 135mm, instead of a shutter speed of 1/125, you can use a shutter speed of 1/30 or maybe 1/15 and have little to no camera shake. Using shutter...

    Some dragonfly shots

1st shot: It is quite nice, except for the wingtip that was cropped out. 2nd and 3rd shots: The colour of the background is a little distracting, but the rest of the photos are good.

Got a D60 in hand now....

There's one L lens that has maximum aperture bigger than f2.8. The 200mm f1.8L USM. It also costs $9500. The price is from Canon Singapore's website.
