What film did you use? I have a Pacific Image 7200. Scanned pictures are ok. I scan at 3600dpi 48bit TIFF. I switch off everything except light scratch removal. Then I postprocessed in Lightroom. I've ditch Cyberview to Vue as it doesn't allow much options and control.

I seconded Catchlights. The camera, lens and accessories are mere tools. They just capture images. U make the picture. Go full manual to learn the tools. Then u'll know wat u need.

Dunno how beginner u are. But why do u need 2 flashes now? U can still use the pop up flash (with a bit of creativity).

Bro, if still under warranty, send it for repair. Otherwise I dun tink worth repairing.

Do take note the 1100d body is pretty light. The zoom or tele lens will make the whole setup front heavy. A batt grip might help but the ones available for 1100d are limited and need an external cable connector for the secondary shutter to work.

U can also use many different available materials as diffusers. Tracing papers, NTUC plastic bags etc. My fav for most occasion is the diy Ikea kitchen drawer anti slip plastic. There's always something for every occasion.

What rechargeable batteries are u using? Why try with normal alkaline to check.

Just blew my Di866. Was taking test pix with hi speed sync at 1/2000. Snap snap suddenly pop. Aiyah. Btw, personal experience my GP2100 batteries can only take 100++ pics before it's drain. My enelope gives double.

Bro, checked out the batt grip. Very plasticky. Worse than than the 1100d body. The shutter button at the grip need to be connected by the supplied 3.5mm plug cable to the camera. So there'll be unsightly cable at the side. Btw, once the grip in used, cannot access the memory card which shares...
