imo, the pricing of the sd1 is one of the worst joke of the year. Even if sigma built a superior sensor they are still have a lot of catchup to do as a system, such as professional support, lenses lineup, and better flash system.

yeah, it always like that. the price difference between mk 3 and 2 would be pretty big that it would not really influences the price of new or 2nd hand 5d mark 2 by a good margin. This is different in lower end bodies, where the price difference between the new and old model is pretty small...

since when did mbp have ips monitors? afaik apple only use ips on the imac and ipad.mbp, like any other 6 bit monitors use dithering to produce the color which is unavailable. dont know about iphone though. the only ips paneled laptop is the lenovo high end one, with built in colorimeter, tablet...

well, 6 bit tn monitor have poor color consistency just by changing the viewing angle, so how could they still be the same with other 8 bit monitor, when the color itself is changing?

Ken rockwell is a joke. he like to exaggerate things. You need to filter which part is right and which part is exaggerated, otherwise his info is pretty good. For the lenses, it depends on your preference. If you don't need 2.8, go with the f4is

If i'm not wrong the mbp is still an 6 bit monitor. so it's just like any other laptop monitor which use dithering, unlike imac or ips panel which is an 8 bit monitor

D70 used electronic shutter if im not wrong. bare flash wise, you could overpower the sun, but it also depends on the weather though, HSS is not the way to go tho except if you have tree of flash like joe mcnally.

But also don't forget that sony unstabilised lens cost similarly to canon's stabilised lenses, such as the 70-200. However they do have the advantages in primes. imo, the a900 hi iso noise is one of the worst. but if you rarely shoot in low light, a900 is very good.

why would you need a quadro for processing pictures? if you're a pc person there is no need for a quadro. adobe's software does not use extensive usage of gpu anyway.
