No problems with mine. The only 2 possiblilities i can think off-hand is 1) u are using 3D-tracking so shutter will not release until it lock to a focus area. Try use Single point focus. 2) u have enabled quiet mode shutter release Hope it helps.

ok i get it. so its a optical ND filter that flip into place when it is turned on. Thanks i though it was done digitally through algorithms. silly me

i was wondering will ND filters be built into DSLR's in the future. (digital ND filter) my old casio PNS had a ND filter function option. or will doing so kill the ND filter market?

im not sure about 1000D cos im using a Nikon. On my camera however, i need to set to auto mode on both lens as well as within the menus. the automatic setting on the mode dial shud not affect your autofocus ability

how about using 3D tracking ?i usually centre focus and recompose cos my cam will track it
