Hey guys, Anyone can got best deal for 580EX II Speedlite and Canon 18-55mm lens (be it grey or normal stock)? So far, i've saw SLRR giving S$743 w/GST for 580EX II, cash and they don't have 18-55mm (not sure no stock or not stocking anymore).

well, it sucks. I've tried buying 7D and via credit, they gave me bulls by telling me need reisk assessment and after sending my bank statement, with NRIC, CC scanned, they said can only bank transfer. afterwhich i found out WorldPay (their "agent" for CC payment) charges appx 2% for using WP...

update: they rejected my order due to failed risk assessment test which even after i sent them my scanned NRIC, front and back of the card, issuing card's bank statement with address. and now said i can only pay by bank transfer, they'll refund the money (SGD$2071.08) back to my card which when...

Yeah... Indeed true. I'm not biased on china-made stuffs, just that I'm conscious on where my product is made and more importantly, how long can it last.

yeah, true. but that all depends on what to trust and what-not. as for DSLRs, i stick to Canon due to its body where it's being made too, instead of Nikon which is Thailand except those pro-sumers DSLRs

There's nothing wrong with "Made in China". But it's just that i trust products that are made in taiwan/usa/japan than countries like china.

I see, hopefully not made in china. How bout 15-55mm? You guys think i should get 55-250mm here in sg or get grey stock? $270+ for grey, but SLRR, etc $300+?

So in this case, if it's 55-250mm that i'm buying, it could be "Made in Taiwan/Japan/Malaysia/China"?

i had 18-200mm and it was stated as Made in Taiwan, cap Made in Japan/Taiwan (can't rmb well). But I thought lens would be Taiwan/Japan since i've tried asking one of the Canon Rep at IT Show and he told me no longer Made in Japan but Taiwan but he didn't mention Malaysia.

okay, so what bout those 2 lenses? for 18-55mm and 55-250mm are they made in malaysia, taiwan or japan?

I'm intending to get it from DigitalRev so it's considered as "grey-stocks"(?) and will Canon Singapore service center still check for free or charge me for the check?
