i am in the same situation. if you are looking for fps, go for 7d or if you can wait, the 7d2.

why would anyone buy a 5d mark iii when all the "new" features are supposed to be long overdued? in fact, it should be priced the same as 5d mark ii.

well, i am looking for some camera with higher ISO (limitations of 500d when i shoot in low light condition) and higher fps (as i always shoot kids).

i am currently using 500d with 24-105mm lens and thinking of changing the body. can some kind soul give me some opinion as to which body to upgrade to?

haha. that's a good one. i am very "poisoned" with getting a new body and lens (24-105mm)!

how do you get around those temptation of getting a newer model?

That's the thing that has been on my mind all these while - the "good to have" features! i have been asking myself if i really need it. or more of a want? that's the reason why i borrowed my friend's camera to try it out and see if these "good to have" features are really a necessity to me. so...
