I have considered the lens too. It sells for about $600 on Techno Gadgets so should be able to fit in my budget if I get used lens. But here comes the "need vs want" dilemma too.

Oh, you were recommending the non-VC version? What would you think of the VC version then? (I read that the VC helps a lot but its image quality doesn't match the non-VC counterpart)
