I think the 50mm f/1.8 has a slight edge over the 40mm pancake in IQ. Some like to compare the bokeh of this f/1.8 with the other large aperture primes, which of course, due to its construction is not as "picture perfect", comparatively. bokeh f/1.8 vs 2.8. Other than that, it seems all other...

Sure. Will share when i get a chance to try. And yes, wireless on-camera trigger and optical trigger for off camera flash confirm no HSS. As for slave ... HSS is a feature synching between the camera and flash. The optical triggered slave, so to speak, is not exactly talking to the camera...
