set the ISO speed to 400 onward don't use flash if you are shooting real close. If you are allow to move around as an official, try different angles & ISO due to the surrounding light source. shooting from spectator stand, look out for player during interval time.

try to crop your shot. normally trade show background is quite messy. try to focus more on the ass like fog lamp, rim & etc.... look out for unforseen background. (kid) look for angles. don't be captivated by the cars. study the best angle before taking the shot.
