the ixus series has not much improvements and innovations lately. almost all perform about the same. the high iso is almost unuseable. and if you are still keen you should just buy the cheapest ixus with the latest DIGIC III image processor

if i may share my opinion. having used both the a650 and s5, i would say that the picture quality for both cameras are about the same. obviously since they both share the same lens, the same sensor, and have similar feature sets such as the the vari-angle screen, etc. and if i really nitpick...
